The beach was one of four that was closed to the public by the eThekwini Metro Municipality after medical waste was found in amongst the rubbish that had come ashore following storms that occurred two weeks earlier.   Medical waste that was found on  Blue Lagoon Beach next to the mouth of the Umgeni River a few kilometres south of this beach. The medical waste that sprked the closures consited primarily of tablets and  sealed standard government issue condoms. The city's main tourist beaches are a mere five kilometres from this point. She wants him to go, he wants Zuma to stay in power. Zuma the third president of the country has becoming increasingly unpopular amid allegations of corruption in the ruling party.
